HALF DAY TOURS

Arriving to Marcos Gelabert (Albrook) airport, you will start the tour going first to the Panama Canal, exactly in the Miraflores Visitors Center , (tickets are not included).

There are two diferents tickets:

$5.00 = partial ticket, you can see the lock process of the vessels, stay in the top deck or the porch, souvenirs stores or restrooms.

$8.00 = the only difference from the partial ticket is that you can entrance to the museum and the theatre.

THE BUILDING IS A NO SMOKING AREA

Miraflores Locks: you will be witness of the locks process of the vessels going from the pacific to the Caribbean in the mourning. The locks are like a big water elevators, in Miraflores there are 2 chambers where the vessels will be up about 48 fts above the level of the sea. If the vessels is coming from the Caribbean they will down 48 fts to the level of the sea.

The Miraflores Visitors Center is a 4 flour building, with porch, top deck, lobby, souvenir store, café, restaurant (it works from 2:00 p.m. to up) events hall, museum, theather.

The film of the theatre is about the Panama Canal history and functions, It has a time of 10 minutes, and there are in Spanish & English versions, there are internal guides explaining the locks process and the history of the Panama Canal .

The museum: there are 4 steps, take pictures and filming is allowed.

First step: has the history of the Panama Canal constructions.
Second step: the biodiversity hall, you will find some bugs native from the Panama Canal Watershed.
Third step: Is the hall of the operating and functions of the Panama Canal Locks, there is a vessels simulator, a replica of the tunnels where the water pass to elevate the vessels and a map of the Panama Canal .
Forth step: I this hall we will see a world map and the marine routes passing for the Canal, and you will see that is a short cut the vessels transit in whole the world!.

The see the Pacific Ocean and the entrance of the Panama Canal, in the horizon, you will see the vessels waiting to across the Canal or waiting to moor at the Balboa Port.

You will arrive to the Flamengo island, there is a duty free and some souvenirs stores, we make about 30 minutes stop.

San Felipe old city: this is a panoramic tour looking at the colonial architectonic style buildings and monuments. San Felipe was declared Patrimony historic of the humanity on 1997 by the UNESCO. You will see, cathedral, churches, squares, ruins, and more to take good pictures.

After the city tour we will transfer you to your hotel to take a rest or go to the disco at night.

All those tours start early in the mourning about 7:00 to 7:30 a.m. , all those tours include lunch and entrance to the exhibitins or museums

PORTOBELO DAY TOUR:



Duration: from 7:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Price: $155.00 minimum 2 pax

Early in the mourning we will pick you up to have about 2 hours to the magic city of Portobello . Portobello has this name because when Christopher Columbus arrived to this bay he said “que porto mas bello !”, and that is the reason of the town name. It was the must attacked city in all the country, pirates like Francis Drake, Henry Morgan, Willian Dampier, Vernon , Etc.. The reason was because the Portobelo´s Fair worked as a merchandise exchange, like natural species brought from the orient, gold from Peru and Mexico and many more. The Fair had a during about 4 month!.In this tour you will meet the Caribbean sea, enjoy the nature, and the historical colonial ruins of the Spanish fortifications like Santiago de la Gloria & San Jeronimo fort, The Customer Building, San Felipe de Portobelo Church and the Black Christ Museum .

This tour include lunch in a good restaurant, located in the edge of the Portobelo Bay , since the balcony you have a panoramic view of the bay and the nature of Portobelo.

San Felipe de Portobelo Church, outside & incide. The Black Christ church, has a legend that the people from the town will tell you.

FULL DAY IN GAMBOA RAINFORREST

This tour start early in the mourning, you will know all the part of American Military bases located at the Panama Canal Zone , Gamboa Rainforest used to be a military base, right now is a resort. The resort is located in the edge of the Gatun Lake , where the vessels pass for to the Gailard Cut of the Panama Canal .

The package include the entrance to the exhibitions of snakes, butterfly, orchids, aquarium, tram tour over the forest and lunch.

TOUR TO THE INDIAN EMBERA-WOUNAAN´S COMMUNITY:

Duration: from 7:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.
Price: $ 145.00 per paxs, minimum 2 paxs.



Enjoy an interesting tour through the Canal lakes and the Chagres River . A good opportunity and privilege to see and depart with a magnificent flora and fauna of our landscape and enjoy of the colorful, ambility and the history of our Embera Indians. Duration:07 hours including lunch.

EL VALLE DE ANTON

Duration: picking up from hotel at 7:00 a.m. coming back at 2:00 p.m.
Price: $ 175.00 per pax minimum 2 pax

At only two hours form Panama City , through the Panamerican highway, we find El Valle de Anton. According to geologist, EL Valle is the crater of a volcano, and that explains we find great quantities of volcanic hills and rocks. The name Anton is original from the river explorer, spaniard Anton Martin. This paradisiacal place rises 600 meters above sea level, with a fresh and plasant climate. Here exist a great variety of ecot ouristic attractions, including its endemic species, the Golden Frogs and the Square Trees, unique around the world. The water falls are impressive, the most famous being El Chorro de las Mozas and El Macho. There its inhabitants sell vegetables, plants, flowers, agricultural products, basketwork, the famous carved soap stones, ceramic, trays, wood furniture, bamboo ca ges, and orchids. Among the later, our nacional flower: The Holy Spirit. The sales start at seven in the morning and end at five in the aft ernoon. At a short distance rise the mountains known as La India Dormida (The Sleeping Indian girl), they have inspired poets and writers to inmortalize a legend from the colonial time. There is also, in the outskirts, an excelient zoo and a plants and flowers greenhouse. The town has good restaurants, if you want to, you can also rent private houses at very good prices. El Valle is known as the Eternal Spring place in Panama and some writers consider it a santuary for meditation.
